The First Look | Wedding Tips | Charleston Wedding Photographer

Planning your wedding and on the fence about doing a first look? While I love traditions, let me give you a little insight to why I think first looks are a great idea!

Let's face're going to be nervous on your wedding day. It's just a natural reaction! Who else can ease your nerves like the love of your life can? Getting to see your fiancé before the ceremony is a way to relax and soak it all in before the day gets super busy.

Alone Time

Weddings can be a bit of a whirlwind, and you'll want to spend as much time with your guests as possible. I mean, they did all come to celebrate with you, right? However, couples don't really get to have any alone time on their wedding day. BUT, if you do a first look, you do get to have that special, intimate time together. And y'all, I have captured some of the sweetest photos where couples have just enjoyed being together.

More Photos

You know you want a bunch of photos with your new husband/wife! Having a first look allows for more time to capture all those photos that you'll want to hang throughout your home.

Party Time

You can go right into the party! A first look allows us to go ahead and knock out all of the bridal party photos AND the family photos before the ceremony. You don't have to worry about your guests waiting for you for an hour before the reception starts. Who wouldn't love going right into the party after saying "I do"??

I've heard many brides tell me that they're worried a first look will spoil the moment when they walk down the aisle. Ladies, trust me when I say that you'll still get a reaction out of your husband-to-be when he sees you walk down the aisle. It's still a whole new experience for the groom to see his bride walking towards him, ready to say their vows.
