MEET Victoria

Ashton’s my cousin, so I’ve known her as long as she’s been alive. Of course, life is crazy and as we got older, we didn’t see each other too often. I got to take her high school senior photos (back when I was still trying to figure out what my camera could do), and I’m so thankful she trusted me to take her wedding photos now that I know a thing or two! I was so excited for her when she got engaged and even more excited when she told me she wanted me to photograph the most special day of her life. When family trusts you with something so important, it just means the world!

In true South Carolina fashion, the weather app leading up to her big day kept going back and forth. The night before and on the day of, a tornado warning had been issued. Before I arrived at the girls’ getting ready house, the wind had picked up but still no rain. I kept thinking, “if it can just hold off…” Well, my second shooter and I arrived at the house and starting photographing details, and then it started. The bottom dropped out of the sky, y’all. The power even flickered on and off, and we’re still not entirely sure what flew off the back porch. We all kept doing our thing until it was time to head to Boone Hall.

The ceremony was so beautiful, and I loved watching the look on Frankie’s face when Ashton walked down the aisle. And it was so fun getting to see so many familiar faces out in the crowd. When it came time for portraits after the ceremony, the sky cleared and the sun even showed itself a little! When I tell you this wedding will go down in the books, I mean it. Ashton and Frankie had such a great attitude about everything, totally rocked their portraits, and threw one heck of a party.

Enjoy some of my favorites from their day!

Mountaintop views. Rich colors. New parents. All the things you need for a breathtaking session. Usually when you’re deciding where to take your maternity photos, you want somewhere that doesn’t require a lot of walking. I was so excited when Katie and Derrick were up for doing their maternity session at Sassafras Mountain. The views […]

Photographing this sweet family never gets old! This time, we headed to the gorgeous side streets of downtown Charleston. There’s so many little gorgeous hidden gems in my hometown. Sessions downtown are always so unique! And can we just talk about how Matthew poses so perfectly for the camera?? He’s just too cute!

So you got married, and now your anniversary is coming up. You plan a fun trip or a romantic date night, but what if you scheduled a portrait session to celebrate, too? Anniversary sessions are so precious to me. I love seeing couples after they’ve been married a year (or a few) and seeing how […]

What is more fun than a bachelorette session on the beach? I loved the outfits Brooke and her girls put together for their session. We had so much walking around the beach capturing photos of Brooke just having fun with her girls. If you have a bachelorette trip planned but not a photo session, go […]
